You can have three players on your bench ready to come on as substitutes. Each substitute can be given a Player Tactic, exactly the same as your starting line up.
You can also give each substitute a Substitution Tactic. This gives a time when you wish him to come onto the field. The Substitution Tactic is a three digit number, the first number refers to the first sub, the second number to the second sub and the third to the third sub. The nine substitution tactics are listed below:
0) Come on only if a player, other
than the goalkeeper, has to go off injured.
1) Come on at half time.
2) Come on at half time if we
are losing.
3) Come on at half time if we
are drawing.
4) Come on at half time if we
are winning.
5) Come on half way through second
half.
6) Come on half way through second
half if we are losing.
7) Come on half way through second
half if we are drawing.
8) Come on half way through second
half if we are winning.
9) Replacement goalkeeper, only
use if necessary.
For example: a Sub. Tactic of 502 will have Sub one come on half way through the second half. Your second sub will only come on if another outfield player goes off injured and your third sub will come on at half time but only if you are getting beaten.
You can also specify who each substitute will replace. To do this use either the position number of the player you wish to be replaced or the player’s squad number. If you replace a player with one who plays in another position, this will change your team formation. e.g. a defender coming on for an attacker.
If you leave the player to be replaced blank or zero, the computer will take off the most tired player in that area of the field, i.e. a defender for a defender.
